Deirdre Maloney helps organizations exceed their goals, and helps their leaders sleep better at night. She does it through her work as an international speaker, organizational trainer, experienced facilitator and published author.

Through services like customized trainings and facilitated group discussions, Deirdre helps any company, non-profit or association get motivated and get moving. Deirdre gained much of her experience while leading a multi-million dollar organization in Denver. As a result, she brings a unique, empathetic understanding of the challenges facing any workplace, and knows what it takes to find true success.

Deirdre has used her brand of “mild audacity” to give the straight scoop on leadership, teams, communication. mindfulness and work/life satisfaction around the world, presenting trainings, keynotes and workshops for organizations like Boeing, Kaiser Permanente, and National Association of Women Business Owners.

Deirdre has been a contributing writer for such publications as Forbes, Inc., Entrepreneur and Thrive Global. Her books include Bogus Balancethe award-winning The Mission Myth and her powerful mini-book series, Tough Truths. Her popular blog on all things leadership is a hit with anyone who likes a direct, authentic style with their morning coffee

In addition to her work through Momentum, Deirdre’s experience includes teaching marketing for the University of San Diego, and serving as a broadcast news producer at a variety of affiliate stations. Deirdre is long-time mindfulness practitioner,  member of San Diego Rotary and, in her spare time, teaches boot camp for Gut Check Fitness.


Jason Maloney – Creative Director

Over 15 years of branding, marketing and advertising experience have created the foundation of skills that Jason uses to focus an organization’s message and drive their customers to take action.

Jason’s background includes several years running his own production company in New York, as well as over a decade spent in the highly competitive broadcast television industry. Jason’s diverse experience in the marketing arena means he can offer a wide variety of services all along the spectrum, from strategic brand positioning to customer-based research, to marketing planning to web design. Jason also brings extensive experience developing internal messaging to motivate company employees.

During his time in marketing and advertising roles at ABC and NBC affiliates, Jason earned numerous EMMY, ADDY and Promax awards for his creative work.  His leadership in leveraging new technologies allows him to create the opportunity for fresh, innovative approaches to getting the client’s messages heard and objectives met.


Julia Jackson – DISC Co-Facilitator

Julia brings over 20 years of experience working with world-class clients in fast-paced environments. She has held numerous corporate roles as a Consultant, Regional Manager and Business Director. Julia also led technical teams for Fortune 500 clients in the technology, telecommunications, finance, insurance, and hospitality industries. Julia’s consulting roles offered her international experience and the opportunity to be a consultant to the United Nations in Chile. She has enjoyed being on the Board of Directors for numerous non-profits, including the Association for Talent Development (ATD). Julia created and led Women in Leadership programs for the Bay Area Organizational Development Network.

Julia received her Technical MBA from the University of San Francisco and her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. She also completed a program at Coach University, with advanced curriculum in corporate coaching. Julia is certified as a coach for the International Coach Federation, as well as a facilitator for DISC Behavioral Styles programs. Her areas of expertise include leadership development, team dynamics, communications, conflict management, change management, career mobility and process improvement.


Lori Edelman – Researcher

Lori’s 15+ years of high level organizational experience have given her the skills to efficiently and effectively tackle research at Momentum.

Lori’s background includes working for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation as a Project Manager. While in this role she managed interdepartmental training and support services for over 30 chapter Executive Directors. Amongst her other duties, Lori was responsible for the annual goal-setting and review process for all chapter staff.

In addition to her work at the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, Lori held management and organizational positions 1199SEIU National Benefit Fund, Henry Street Settlement and Literacy Partners Inc.
