He makes a lot of assumptions about people reading this book (which is a no). There`s a ton of victim`s bills in the whole book. He points out, for example, that we only take the abuses we think we deserve. This may very well apply to people who have horrible bosses or who have mooching friends. But this logic does not hold when one thinks of the child harassed by his parents or the mother snatched by her child at the border with the United States. Do we appreciate these people who have been victims? Should they have asked for something better? And to whom do they have to make this kind of requirement? The power dynamics of life are not always so clear, as Mr. Ruiz says, and his fate has insulted me.
